Jayden Loves the Snow

This kid was born to play in the snow. He was outside for seriously an hour and half and when it was time to come in he was not ready. He went sledding with his daddy and he crawled in the tunnel Uncle Scott dug, but the best was the snowball he wanted to throw. Jayden picked up this hunk of snow and came walking towards Megan and he said, "I get Megan." He "threw" the snow ball at Meg and the two of them had a great giggle! - krissa

While opening presents the kids were getting a little bored when it was not their turn. Grandpa Rick was so good with all three of them. He had Jayden's laptop toy out and was teaching all of the kids to "share." Good Luck Grandpa Rick!! -krissa

Too Cute Not to Post

I did not want Jeff and Lisa to feel left out of the blog since they don't have kids to publish. Erica took this cute picture of the two of them playing in the snow, it sure looks like they had fun. I am sad I missed that day at the cabin. - krissa

Matt and the Girls

The two girls love the song "Five Silly Monkeys," and Matt is so nice to sing it with them. One afternoon he scooped up the two girls and sang with them. The cutest part of the whole song is when the three of them do the teasing hand on their head (put your thumbs on your temples and shake your hands), and the best is they do it at the right part of the song too. The sure do look like they are having fun. - krissa

Lisa Amazed Us Again

Last year Lisa made all the kids the cutest sock monkeys, and all of us were wondering what could she possibly do to top those cute guys, well she managed. She made the cutest quiet book for each family. Everyone wanted to "play" with them including the adults. We can only imagine the time and thought put into these books, and I am sure every family is as grateful as we are. I know our book will be cherished and well loved! - krissa

The Mini Christmas Tree

Dan and Karlie were so sweet and willing to take down their tree at home, load it up and bring it to the cabin for the family. On Sunday night they decided to set up the tree while the kids were asleep and most of us were off doing our own thing. Next thing we knew Double G was coming in to tell us "we had to come see the tree." Jeremy asked him, "Is it going somewhere?" But Double G insisted we must come see the tree now. So Erica, Jeremy and I went into the living room and saw the littlest Christmas ever. When they had packed up the tree one of the poles had gotten left at home, so the tree was only about 3 feet tall. It was perfect though. The presents fit around it and it was beautiful. Christmas would not have been the same with a full size Christmas tree. -krissa

Great Aunts and Uncles

These babies are so lucky, they have the best Aunts and Uncles. Everyone loves to play with each other and they are always willing to help out the 'real' parents. The kids love them too and I know the girls already miss all of them.

Last minute, we remembered we hadn't taken a family picture at the cabin. Dan had already left for work, so we decided we'd Photoshop him in later! (But I don't have Photoshop on this computer, so use your imagination.) After several tries we got a good one.

Vomit-ville

About 1/2 of the group got infected with the stomach bug. Megan started it before everyone got here, Jeremy had it Christmas Eve, Jayden got it the day after Christmas, and then Granna, Grandpa, Jeff, Grandma, Karlie, and Scott have had it since we got home from the cabin. It's made for some interesting times...

Cookies

We wanted to make Christmas cookies with the kids, but we didn't want the mess. Thank goodness for the new pre-made, rolled out sugar cookie dough! It was perfect for the 'under one' crowd. They loved cutting out cookies, but they also loved poking the dough, eating the dough, throwing the dough, etc. We didn't even TRY to frost or decorate them...we're not that ambitious!!

Every year, Dad makes us line up on the stairs before we run in to see what Santa brought. Thank goodness the cabin had stairs for us to line up on; we wouldn't want to disappoint Dad! If our family grows much more, we're going to have to find a bigger flight of stairs...

Baby Karah

We all got several chances to love all over baby Karah. She is such a precious baby. It's easy to get caught up holding her because she's good, happy baby. Grandpa really loved holding her because she'd snuggle down on him.

Princesses

Daddy brought Megan's "tackle box", and she got princess shoes for Christmas, so it was Princess World around the cabin. Megan really wanted everyone to wear Princess accessories. Rylee was the victim most of the time, but they sure had fun!

Not long after we arrived at the cabin, the boys were dressed and outside in the snow. They found a great sled trail on the side of the cabin. The little kids went down the driveway...it was a little safer. Aunt Lisa and Uncle Jeff made a snowman on the back patio, and the kids got to go meet him.

The Story Behind Sundance

Back in August/September, we "ideated" getting together for Christmas in a condo or cabin somewhere - ALL of the Reinbolds. We had a cabin booked in Heber City, but the owner turned around and rented it out from underneath us....with only 6 weeks left until Christmas. A miracle happened and a nice guy and his sister agreed to rent out their family cabin in Sundance. By planes, trains, and automobiles, we gathered on December 22nd for 5 full days of fun and excitement. Thus somewhat over 1000 pictures and video were taken, hundreds of pounds of food consumed, and several hours of sleep lost! Enjoy!
